Christmas party ish

Something i have done every year with my friends, is have a little christmas party, i say party, it's very un rock and roll...

We normally have to really strategically pick a day to meet because of the snow and me living in the middle of nowhere, but we haven't had any yet this year, which i'm a little pleased about, because i can actually get around. I like a sprinkling on the fields, but last year was ridiculous.

We then eat LOTS, drink tea, chat, exchange presents and bake... see very un rock and roll.

This year was lovely as always, but we didn't quite get everything done.

We ate lots

I love a feast of randomness!! I practically had to drag Joely away, for a skinny mite she will sit there all day until all the food has gone.

We exchanged presents

In my gorgeously newly decorated room, i want a whole wall dedicated to art, so they got me these along with a few more lovely pieces, they're perfect!

Then we kinda baked

We had planned to decorate the gingerbread house, make jam tarts and mince pies, and ginger nut cheesecake truffles.

We made half a tray each of jam tarts and mince pies, which were really yummy actually.
We half made the truffles, but we kinda burnt the chocolate so we couldn't finish them
Then by the time that was all done it was 10, and the thought of decorating a gingerbread house, wasn't one that filled me with the joys of christmas...

So we'll save it for just after christmas, then my little yummers will be here to help.

  1. These look delicious. Jam tarts are something I used to make with my grandma. Happy Holidays.
